“Wa-a-ait a minute…”

Nina Munteanu (aka “SFGirl”) has tagged me to name seven random or weird facts about myself. Yikes. I told her that I’m glad it’s a random/weird option, because after this many years of being “me”, I have no idea as to whether a behavior is weird unless one of my kids is right there to roll their eyes at me. Of course, I’ve probably indoctrinated them a bit in return at this point. Someday they’ll find out that most people don’t really park their cars badly just to more easily find them again later.

My “seven” (random or weird; random or weird…? Still not sure):

1: I always carry a couple of crushed red pepper packets in my purse for pizza “emergencies”.

2: I love driving with my windows down (I know; get a convertible already!). To stretch this option even further, I’ll crank up the heat and wear a blanket across my lap to comfortably enjoy the natural breezes and “nature connection” through November.

3: I’m a fitness freak. My theory is that this is somehow related to my simply enduring the gym classes of my younger years. I’m making up for lost time now.

4: -But I’m not so much of a cook. When I remarked on a sister’s “signature dish” last weekend, my daughter affectionately commented that mine was probably a microwave dinner. Sigh… I blame it on the fact that playing football is much more important to my children’s ultimate development.

5: I attempted unassisted human flight by jumping off walls with an opened garbage bag when I was a kid (“random”). More than once (“weird”)… It just seemed like too good a possibility to pass up.

6: I was a terribly obedient child. When I ran away from home, I kept circling the block with my suitcase because I knew I wasn’t allowed to cross the street.

7: I make my bed first thing every morning, because I like knowing that no matter what the kids or the world at large might scatter about me, I’ll have something beautiful to fall into at the end of the day.

OK; I’m picking seven new-to-me types to carry this forward: mee mOe, JTJ3, onebrownguy, Jackal, Don, Alan Runcie, and DHanosh.

Here are the rules of the Meme:
Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blogNEW.
Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.
Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogNEWs.
Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogNEW.

I’m “it” (Whos next?)…

HMD; two years

Hmmm… another interesting tag from Rino. I’m a bit behind on responding to some of this “fun stuff”, but I’ll catch-up eventually. I’m more of a believer in birth order traits (I’m an oldest child; make of that what you will!) than anything arising out of my birth month, but for “fun”…

Here’s what Rino posted:

Twelve Months
1. Mention the person who tagged you and create a link back to them.
2. Copy-paste the traits for all the twelve months (for the complete list, see it here.)
3. Pick your month of birth.
4. Highlight the traits that apply to you.
5. Tag 12 people and let them know by visiting their blogNEWs and leaving a comment for them.
6. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve done it!

OK. I was a September baby. So…

SEPTEMBER: Suave and compromising. Careful, cautious and organized. Likes to point out people’s mistakes. Likes to criticize. Stubborn. Quiet but able to talk well. Calm and cool. Kind and sympathetic. Concerned and detailed. Loyal but not always honest. Does work well. Very confident. Sensitive. Good memory. Clever and knowledgeable. Loves to look for information. Must control oneself when criticizing. Able to motivate oneself. Understanding. Fun to be around. Secretive. Loves leisure and traveling. Hardly shows emotions. Tends to bottle up feelings. Very choosy, especially in relationships. Systematic.

Well… I wish I were “suave”. I wish I were “organized”. I wish I could remember where I’ve parked…

The Baby Book (pictured above) was my find-of-the-month as Hannah and I sorted HMD at age twothrough a stray box of my parents’ belongings unearthed in the great garage clean-up of last month. I laughed when she asked me where her own “Baby Book” is (note again that “organized” is not bold-faced in the “September” paragraph)and showed her how abruptly my mom’s careful entries ended when my twin sisters were born. I did assure her that I’ve taken copious notes on her clever remarks and achievements and have enough photos of her to wall-paper her first home.

We’ll do her “book” together someday (and she will then, no doubt, field the same question from her own daughter. Ahh; “tradition”)…

Next victims: Delmer, Armonelyon, SF Girl, Santa, Debojit, Debo Hobo, Cubicle Queen, PurpleFrogCat, SavvySuzy, Robin, Zephyr1, Peteej… (Extra points for baby pictures!)

***Some of you have asked about the MP3s which are normally an easy add-on. -Hope to have my computer/recording issues resolved soon (thank you, Karen). Otherwise, it’s back to a stone tablet and megaphone…
