Autumn Amble

Fall draws me to the woods like no other season.  It slowly slides into place but then moves emphatically, steadily draining chlorophyll from foliage and displaying the hidden beauty of leaves that were once a familiar green.

While Spring teases with moments of warmth and a slow greening, Fall fascinates with subtle whispers that seem to fade the moment I turn an ear to listen.

Photos are from Caesar Creek State Park in Waynesville, Ohio.

Photos of the different seasons are always beautiful.

  2. Gorgeous photos Heather. Seasonal changes are magical no matter what country you are in. I’m envious that you have the cooler temperatures to enjoy these. It’s 85 degrees outside at the moment and that is much cooler than what summer was.

  3. As a Newbie, I am always searching online for articles that can help me. Thank you Wow! Thank you! I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?

  4. Heather, as lovely as your photos are, I love your writing just as much. I like that description of fall mirroring spring, one slowly coming into being with the other slowly fading.

  7. Fall is definitely the most photogenic season :) I love your pictures!

  8. Rainfield: Autumn looks especially good on Ohio!

Cate: While we Northerners love escaping to your state in the winter, I can see it would be challenging to live in warm/hot year round. Glad you get to travel so much!

  10. Proficient, thanks for sharing this info. Looks great on my iPhone, but on the Blackberry Pearl’s browser your site comes out a little irregular.
