One of the best parts of taking my kids on travel adventures is watching them discover.  I’m a self-proclaimed travel junkie, already thrilled to be on a new trail or in some other new-to-me place.  But watching their wonderment vicariously enhances my own to an utterly splendid level.  This photo was a snap decision, but it caught my oldest son taking in a freshly unfolding view in Bryce Canyon National Park as well as my youngest son’s excitement to see what his older brother had just found.

Heather, I think Bryce Canyon is the prettiest place ever! I like it so much more than the Grand Canyon. We were thrilled with our first (and only) helicopter ride through Bryce – well worth the money. I’d love to take my kids there some day. We really need to drive from our home in Atlanta to visit my husband’s family in Los Angeles and stop to see Bryce among many other awesome places along the way! Now if we could only each get a month off of work!!

  2. Haven’t done that helicopter ride, Meg, but it sounds spectacular! Bryce is such a magical place. I hope you can someday come up with that month for a family trip, but if not -we flew in and out of Vegas, and it was an easy drive to (and through) southern Utah from there! Tell the LA folks to meet you in Utah!

  3. Broadening horizons is the best thing a mind can do.

  4. Broadening the horizon invariably broadens the mind, doesn’t it Graham?

Heather, I like the photo :) Yes, it’s exciting to share new places and discoveries with our children. You are a good mom to share that sense of adventure with them.

  6. My only time at Bryce Canyon was in February and it was -20 degrees, occasionally snowing and I shared the road with only one other car. And the canyon was stunningly beautiful and I had one of the best days exploring ever.
