Don’t let the casual demeanor fool you. Gibraltar’s Barbary Apes are known to be plucky thieves with a fondness for backpacks and whatever food items can they wheedle or steal from passers-by. Savvy hikers keep their packs forward and their trail mix out of sight.
Oh. And he’s not really an ape. The Barbary Apes of Gibraltar (and Morocco) are actually highly social and highly entertaining Barbary Macaques.
